My Simple Backlink Strategy That Works

Why You Must Have A Backlink Strategy
If you are new to writing online this can really help you develop a backlink strategy for your hubpages. For the purpose of this hub I am referring to backlinks from sources outside of hubpages.
Writing a hub is just the first part of the equation, after-wards it must be found on search engines or the writing could be in vein. This is why you must have a backlink strategy. Below I will outline my strategy for my hub about owner financed land and my journey to a number one ranking on Google. Remember I am not claiming to be an expert I am just going to document my backlink strategy and test its effectiveness.
This hub was published on 04/11/2010 and has to date 7 backlinks outside of hubpages and 164 on hubpages and has a Google rank of 12 for a broad search of owner financed land and a field of 279000 competitors. To move this onto the first page will take a few more backlinks and here is my strategy:
- I will attempt to build at least five backlinks per day for the next 30 days. Look for and find two related blogs and make relevant comments, (NEVER Spam). Locate two related forums per day sign up and put your signature in the forum profile using anchor text to your page in question, now comment on at least two threads that have activity, let your signature be your link. Be sure to bookmark your comments and thread replys to all the social bookmarking sites to increase the chance of your backlinks being indexed quickly. Make notes of all url's and feeds that have your backlinks.
- Create a relative lens at Squidoo using your anchor text in at least two places ,one should be close to the top and the other close to the bottom. Make notes of all url's and feeds that have your backlinks, be sure to bookmark. This I will do during the first week.
- Create a page at Wetpaint and include links to your hub. Make notes of all url's and feeds that have your backlinks, be sure to bookmark. (This is still in the first week).
- Write a good article for Ezine articles, get it published including links to your hub and lens in the resource box. Again keep up with the feeds and url's and be sure to bookmark.
- Post at least once a day to your Posterous account to broadcast your links to all the accounts set up in Posterous. If you don't have a Posterous account, GET ONE and learn how to use it. You can see more on this at The Challenge. Be sure to bookmark and keep up with those url's and feeds.
- Now it is time to take all the feed url's of the backlink pages and go to Feedbite and Badrss and enter the feeds and then merge them into one feed, then take that feed and put it into a widget on your Squidoo lens. One merged feed from Feedbite into the widget and one feed from Badrss into a page module. Also you need to broadcast your feeds to as many RSS submission sites as posssible. For more detailed information on that I will point you to another hub called Easy RSS site submission list.
Backlink Strategy Continued
This may or may not be the correct way to backlink but I think this will push my hub onto the first page of Google results within the next thirty days. This is my backlink strategy for this particular hub after evaluating it against it's competition. I usually pick my strategy based on the particular situation at hand and the competition strength. There are many sites that claim they have software to help with backlinking and I have tried many such as Bookmarking Demon, Link Juicer, and Linkvana all have there good points but they are expensive and time consuming. Unfortunately sometimes that is called for if the competition for your keyword is really hard. In thirty days I will write a follow-up hub to display the results of my backlink strategy. Please follow me or bookmark this hub to find out the results and feel free to comment or add backlink strategy tips of your own.
Backlink Strategy Tips
Be sure to keep records of all your backlinks and periodically check to make sure they have been indexed . If you are not already using it, the add-on that I use to quickly check my backlinks for my hubs is Searchstatus 1.33. You should be able to find it with a quick search of add-ons. This will help you find .edu and .gov forums or blogs to get those elusive backlinks.
site:.edu inurl:blog “post a comment” -”you must be logged in”
inurl:.gov+inurl:forum
You can also play around with these to narrow your searches. One more tip to help get some of your backlinks indexed if they are not showing up:
- Take your url's list and post them on a posterous post
- Be sure to NOT autoshare this post on posterous
- Now go to Digg and find the sites that are getting the most diggs
- Do not make comments directly on Digg go straight to the sites getting all the diggs
- Try to leave a couple of comments (relevant comments)
- Use the URL from your posterous post that you made earlier as your signature
- Now when these pages that are so popular on Digg get crawled, your posterous post will also get crawled and there all of your backlinks will get indexed
I know this gets a little confusing therefore, I welcome any questions and comments. I will try to answer them as best I can.
Backlinking According To Google
"Google interprets a link from Page A to Page B as a vote from Page A to Page B... Votes cast by pages that are themselves important weigh more heavily and help make other pages important"

It's not confusing, it is actually a good strategy, regular link building without spamming and massive link building.
The thing is, you can do this effectively for one to three websites or Hubs, but in your case you have 30+ hubs, can you make that on your own?
The competition is low, plus you already have ranked close to the first page, so you will sure be getting top 10 places in the SERP, but you won't get much out of it as the search volume is low, you also need to know what to target.
Anyway, great strategy, but since DIY SEO takes time you can do this only for a few websites, that is the downside. I speak from experience :)
Good advice and will have to try it and see if it works for me!
